Surprisingly, Ather Energy doesn’t make it to the list
The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has revealed the market share data for July 2022. And just like in June 2022, electric vehicle manufacturers have been seeing steady growth, and have even sold more units than some ICE brands. Here’s a look at the top five EV makers from last month:

Hero Electric and Okinawa have witnessed a tremendous surge in sales, not just in terms of year-on-year growth, but also in month-on-month numbers. Hero Electric has managed to sell over 2,000 units more than it did in June 2022 while Okinawa has managed to sell a little over 1,000 units more.

Ampere Energy and Ola Electric have seen a dip in sales compared to June this year. And yet, these brands have sold more vehicles than Classic Legends (Jawa and Yezdi) and Piaggio Vehicles (Aprilia and Vespa).
Revolt came in at the fifth spot, outselling Ather Energy by 1069 units. One of the possible reasons for the decline in Ather sales in July could also be due to the supply chain shortage that the manufacturer has been facing.
Ola Electric and Ather Energy cater to the premium EV segment, and have higher prices than products from Hero Electric, Okinawa and Ampere Vehicles. With the growing demand for EVs, and states now withdrawing their subsidies, we may see these budget-friendly EVs selling even more.
