Okinawa Ridge Overview
The Okinawa Ridge range is the Gurugram based EV maker’s most affordable electric scooter under the high-speed series. It comes with sporty styling that’s reminiscent of the Honda Dio.
Okinawa Ridge Key Highlights
Price: The Ridge Plus (without GPS) comes at a price of Rs 84,606, with Ridge Plus (with GPS) being priced at Rs 90,606. The flagship Ridge 100, almost double the battery capacity costs Rs 1,15,311 (prices ex-showroom, including FAME-2 subsidy).
Design: The Ridge comes with an apron mounted headlight, a trend which was kickstarted by Honda Dio, back in the days. The front turn-signals are mounted on the head assembly. Okinawa Ridge comes with a flat floorboard, with a distinctively designed dual-tone floor mat. It has a single-piece seat, with black-coloured pillion grab-handle. It comes with aluminum-alloy brake levers and chrome highlights on the handlebars for a dash of premium-ness.
Features: Okinawa Ride comes with a fully-digital instrument console, which shows information like speed, odometer/trip-meter readings, battery level indication and supports smartphone connectivity through Bluetooth. Other notable features include Central Locking with Anti-theft Alarm, Keyless Entry, Find My Scooter Function, Geo-Fencing, Immobilization, Trips, Tracking & Monitoring, Maintenance/Insurance Reminder, Battery info and Driver Score. The e-scooter is available without the GPS-based features too. Its portable battery is housed right beneath the seat, leaving no boot storage. However, there is a small storage space in the apron.
Motor: The Okinawa Ridge series is run by a hub-type 1.6kW electric motor, which is powered by 1.7kWh (on Ridge Plus) and 3.2kWh lithium-ion battery (on Ridge 100), which is also detachable. The company claims 81km range for the Ridge Plus and 149km for Ridge 100 and both the variants have a 45kmph top speed. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic front fork and dual rear shock absorbers. Braking is looked after via drum units at both ends, with E-ABS (electronic-assisted braking system) coming as standard. It comes with 10 inch alloy wheels, which are wrapped in tubeless tyres. It has a loading capacity of 150kg, with the seat height being 735mm, along with 160mm ground clearance.
Rivals: The Okinawa Ridge goes up against the likes of the Ola S1 Air, Hero Electric Optima and the Ampere Magnus EX.
Variants: Both Ridge Plus and the Ridge 100 are offered as standard variants with varying colourways. The Ridge Plus is available in 8 colours, which are Glossy Blue Black, Glossy Silver Black, Glossy Sparkle Black, Honeycomb Theme Blue, Honeycomb Theme Purple, Honeycomb Theme Red, Lucent Orange/Magna Grey and Pearl Blue. The Ridge 100 is available in three colours, which would be Ash Grey, Cloud Silver and Mid Night Blue.
