Hyundai is all set to give its popular sub-4 metre SUV, the Venue, its first major facelift in India. Select dealers have commenced offline bookings for the subcompact SUV which is expected to be launched on June 16. Without further ado, here are the top 5 things you can expect from the refreshed crossover.

Exterior Styling

The Venue’s exterior styling will be radically different as styling updates will keep it in sync with the facelifted Creta and new Tucson. The front grille has grown a size larger and is more squarish, flanked by what seems to be the same split headlights as before. The SUV will get new alloys for a breath of fresh air, while the rear end gets new and sleeker split LED taillights.

Also, the sub-4 metre SUV could get the N Line treatment with sportier rims and dual exhaust tips.

Interior Styling

We are yet to see the facelifted Hyundai Venue’s interior. That said, the dashboard design could get a few changes to accommodate the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Currently, the sub-4 metre SUV gets an 8-inch display with connected car tech. This brings us to the next point.

New Feature Additions

New features expected in the Venue include a digitised instrument cluster (à la i20), ventilated front seats, and a Bose sound system. Equipment like automatic climate control, cruise control, wireless phone charger, sunroof, six airbags and electronic stability control should be carried forward from before.

Engine Options

The 2022 Venue will make use of the existing 83PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 120PS 1-litre turbo-petrol, and 100PS 1.5-litre diesel engine options. Depending upon the powertrain, it will get manual, automatic, and clutchless manual transmission. But the talking point could be the addition of the Sonet’s 115PS 1.5-litre diesel unit, paired with a 6-speed automatic.

Price And Rivals

The facelifted Hyundai Venue is expected to be priced from Rs 7.2 lakh, putting it in contention with the Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Toyota Urban Cruiser and the like.
