Upcoming Endeavour Sport, Ford’s Answer To Fortuner TRD, Spotted At Dealership

Will be offered with blacked out design elements and possibly also a dark themed interior

  • It is internationally sold as the Everest Sport in markets like Australia.

  • Will get minor cosmetic enhancements but no mechanical upgrades.

  • The Endeavour Sport will compete with the Toyota Fortuner TRD.

Ford’s answer to Toyota’s Fortuner TRD could be one step closer to reality. The Endeavour Sport had been rumored to be arriving in India. The Endeavour Sport was recently spotted testing on the streets of India, and has now started reaching dealerships. This indicates that Ford is set to launch the Endeavour Sport soon.

As the name suggests, the Sport variant will have some sportier enhancements to the design. The front grille, front and rear bumpers, and the alloy wheels are among the design elements to get the blacked-out treatment. From the visuals, an additional Sport badging will be offered with the variant, with a Sport vinyl on the side.

The Sport variant is unlikely to get a mechanical upgrade, which means that it will utilise the standard powertrain offered with the Endeavour: a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The mill produces 170PS of grunt and is mated to an India-first 10-speed automatic gearbox. The Sport variant could also get the choice of RWD and AWD like the standard model.

The Endy Sport could be priced over the top-spec Titanium+ AT variant, which retails in between Rs 32.75 lakh and Rs 34.45 lakh, and will lock horns with the Toyota Fortuner TRD, which is priced between Rs 34.98 lakh and Rs 36.88 lakh.
