Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Sedan

Mercedes-Benz has been on a roll in the exclusive performance and luxury car segment. With the S-Class Coupe and the S-63 Coupe launched in India just recently, Mercedes-Benz will soon launch the S63 AMG sedan in India on August 11. The new car will be priced at over Rs 2 Crore and will aim at luxury automobiles like the Bentley Flying Spur. Although the new S63 AMG will see very limited sales in India, it does add to the Mercedes-Benz portfolio in India which is soon nearing international standards in both its more popular segments and the AMG sports and exotic segments.

Visually, expect the AMG version to differentiate itself from the standard car with a much more aggressive stance. This includes a larger and sportier front bumper with larger intakes and a front splitter. The rear bumper too will incorporate an inbuilt diffuser and will feature a quad exhaust setup. To round it up, the lower side skirts and a lip spoiler along with large 20-inch wheels give the S63 subtle yet sporty look. The new S63 will also possibly be available in some fancier colors and will feature the Designo program for both exterior and interior customization.

Under the hood, the S63 will feature the ‘Pièce de Résistance’ V8 engine that makes a modest 585PS of peak power and a staggering 900Nm of peak torque. The car can go from 0-100kmph in 4.4-seconds and on to a limited top speed of 250kmph with the factory restrictor in place. The 5.5-litre AMG V8 of course is turbocharged for the best blend of power and fuel economy. The Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG will go up against the likes of the Maserati Quattroporte and the Bentley Flying Spur along with competition from BMW like the 760Li.
