Jaguar F-Pace Local Assembly Starts; Prices Go Down

Jaguar has begun the local assembly of its first ever SUV, the F-Pace, in India. As it now comes to us as a CKD, the prices have gone down and the Jaguar F-Pace now starts at Rs 60.02 lakh, ex-showroom India. This is a drop of around Rs 13 lakh, as compared to the CBU unit. But, as of now, only the 2.0-litre diesel Prestige variant is being locally assembled and hence, is the only one on sale; others might join the lineup soon. Bookings for the 2018 model year F-Pace are now open and deliveries will begin by the end of this month.

The  2.0-litre 4-cylinder, turbocharged Ingenium diesel engine produces 180PS of power and 430Nm of torque. Mated to this engine is an 8-Speed automatic transmission sending power to all the four wheels. Safety is taken care of by Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and six airbags.

In term of features, the Prestige variant gets adaptive LED headlights, LED taillamps, panoramic sunroof, auto-dimming heated door mirrors, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps and 19-inch 5-spoke wheels. Inside, you get 10-way adjustable front seats with driver side memory, configurable mood lighting, four-zone climate control, 12.3-inch instrument console display, 10.2-inch infotainment display and a Meridian sound system.

The current Jaguar range features the XE (starting at Rs 35.85 lakh), XF (starting at Rs 46.46 lakh), F-PACE (starting at Rs 60.02 lakh), XJ (starting at Rs 1.0 crore) and the F-TYPE (starting at Rs 1.34 crore). The F-Pace rivals the likes of the Audi Q5, BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC and the Porsche Macan.
