All New Toyota Fortuner Sells 12,200 Units In Six Months!

Toyota also registers 52% growth in sales compared to April last year

Fortuner
Toyota has managed to roll-out 12,200 units of their flagship SUV, the Fortuner in less than six months since its launch in India. The overwhelming response to the second-gen Fortuner has seen Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s (TKM) domestic sales figures shoot through the roof. In April 2017, the Japanese carmaker has witnessed a 52 per cent growth in sales compared to the same month last year.

Toyota Fortuner has been the segment leader for a long time now and with the recent update, the company has managed to stretch that gap further. The Ford Endeavour, which is now priced at Rs 26.63-31.50 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi, received multiple price revisions before and after the all-new Fortuner (25.92-31.12 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi) was launched and seems to have lost the price advantage over the Fortuner. This has indeed helped Toyota to race away with the sales numbers in the full-sized SUV segment.
Contributing to this impressive growth, Toyota claims that the Corolla Altis facelift has clocked 75 per cent more growth in sales numbers compared to the older version, aiding the company’s growth further. The Corolla Altis facelfit has seen customers taking a renewed interest in the D-segment sedan and leads the charts leaving behind its competitors such as the Hyundai Elantra and the Skoda Octavia.

Toyota’s bread and butter model, the Innova Crysta, continues to register its impressive run with TKM consistently rolling out around to 6,000 units every month from its Bidadi plant in Karnataka.
