BS6 Tag Doesn't Affect The 2020 Toyota Fortuner's Price

The updated model is priced from Rs 28.18 lakh and will hit showrooms in March 2020

Prices of Fortuner BS6 start from Rs 28.18 lakh and go up to Rs 33.95 lakh.
Toyota had earlier hiked the Fortuner's prices by Rs 35,000.
The Toyota Fortuner BS6 will be available with diesel and petrol engine options.
The 2.8-litre diesel engine will be available with rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants.
The 2.7-litre petrol engine develops an identical 165PS of power.

Toyota India has revealed the prices of the BS6-compliant Fortuner ahead of its launch in March 2020. It starts from Rs 28.18 lakh and goes up to Rs 33.95 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options. Surprisingly, prices of the BS6 Fortuner are the same as the MY2020 model as Toyota had earlier hiked prices by Rs 35,000. The Toyota Fortuner BS6 will be offered with the existing 2.8-litre diesel and 2.7-litre petrol motors, albeit with upgrades.

The BS6 diesel motor’s output remains unchanged, at 177PS. Just like the current model, the 6-speed manual develops 420Nm while the 6-speed automatic variant puts out 450Nm. The diesel Fortuner is offered with rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options.

The BS6-compliant petrol Fortuner also develops an identical 165PS of power and 245Nm of torque. It’s offered in the rear-wheel-drive guise with 6-speed manual and automatic options.

The Toyota Fortuner BS6 comes in at a time when Ford is gearing up to launch the updated Endeavour. Its other important rivals include the Mahindra Alturas G4 and the upcoming MG Gloster.
