Here Are The Top People-movers Set To Arrive In 2022

MPVs might have less appeal than SUVs, but they are known for their practical nature. Here are the top ones we’ll be getting in 2022

ZW-Upcoming-MPV-2022

An MPV might have less appeal than an SUV, but they are very practical in nature and might appeal to those with a large family. So if you had your eyes set on purchasing a new MPV, you might want to consider these four models which will be launched in 2022. The better part is these upcoming models will be present in different segments, so there is an option for everyone.

Kia Carens

Expected Price: Rs 12 lakh onwards

Kia deliberately calls the Carens a ‘Recreational Vehicle (RV), but in essence it’s nothing but an MPV. The Alcazar-based people-mover debuts Kia’s new Opposites United design language and looks quite distinct from its stablemates. It will also be available in six- and seven-seater options, and gets a few segment-first features. Our unveiling report of the Carens should bring you up to speed with all the important facts.

Facelifted Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

Expected Price: Rs 8 lakh onwards

Maruti Suzuki has started testing the facelifted Ertiga, but the disappointing fact is that the design updates are bare minimum. That said, we expect Maruti to make it up by adding new features like a larger touchscreen infotainment system and probably a wireless phone charger. The 105PS 1.5-litre petrol engine should be carried forward unchanged in the facelifted Ertiga

Facelifted Renault Triber

Expected Price: Rs 5.5 lakh onwards

The Triber has been on sale since August 2019 and Renault could facelift the popular people mover in 2022. While it will get design and probably some feature updates (like the addition of climate control, LED headlamps, and wireless smartphone connectivity), the main talking point will be the likely addition of the much-required 100PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine (from the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger). It should be offered with a manual and optional CVT for more appeal.

Next-gen Kia Carnival

Expected Price: Rs 26 lakh onwards

SUV-like looks, a premium interior, and more features describe the new Carnival. Internationally, there’s also a luxurious four-seater variant that can give a high-end hotel lounge a run for its money. It also has a longer wheelbase and that should ensure it’s much more spacious than the already spacious cabin of the current-gen Carnival.

So these are the top people-movers expected to launch in India in 2022. Which model are you waiting for? Drop your thoughts in the comments below.
