Get Ready For Two New Indian Motorcycles. Pursuit And Guardian Names Trademarked

The new motorcycles are expected to be based on the Indian Challenger

  • The new names were filed with the US and Australian patent offices.
  • They could be stripped down, affordable versions of new Challenger.
  • Indian trademarked ‘Raven’ and ‘Renegade’ names a year ago.
  • Indian Motorcycle Trademarks Pursuit And Guardian Motorcycle Names

Indian Motorcycle has filed trademark applications for the ‘Guardian’ and ‘Pursuit’ names with the US and Australian patent and trademark offices. This indicates that the American manufacturer is working on two new motorcycles. Interestingly, Indian Motorcycle registered the names ‘Raven’ and ‘Renegade’ a year ago, but we are yet to see any new models bearing those names. It is possible that the new names could be for upcoming motorcycles based on the new Indian Challenger

Indian motorcycles have had different motorcycles based on the same platform and sharing the same powertrain for years now. For example, its 1811cc air-cooled Thunderstroke 111 V-twin motor appears in multiple models like the Chief Dark Horse and Chief Vintage while its 1133cc liquid-cooled V-twin powers the Scout, Scout Bobber and Scout Bobber Twenty. We expect Indian to go down the same route and introduce multiple models based on the Challenger’s all-new 1768cc PowerPlus liquid-cooled V-twin motor. It is currently the most powerful motor in Indian’s lineup.

Given that the current Challenger models are baggers, Indian could be working on a stripped-down and more affordable cruiser like the Chief Dark Horse or a full-sized tourer like the Roadmaster

Besides these new models, Indian Motorcycles is also working on an adventure tourer styled FTR 1200 which we could see at EICMA later this year.
