Honda Elevate, City And Amaze Gets Additional Safety Features, Prices Hiked

Apart from safety, Honda has even updated the features list for few variants
- Honda Elevate and City now safer, with 6 airbags as standard.
- The Elevate now gets more premium features in lower-end variants.
- Honda City Hybrid and Amaze get seat-belt reminders for all occupants.
- All these changes command a price hike for all the variants.
Honda Cars have strengthened its portfolio by adding improved safety features to every model in its range, including the Elevate, City, City e:HEV, and Amaze.
Six airbags, 3-point seatbelts with Emergency Locking Retractors (ELRs), and seat belt reminders for all five seats are now standard equipment on the Honda Elevate and Honda City. The Honda Amaze will have one additional safety feature.
Let's summarise the features added for each Honda vehicle sold in India :
Honda Elevate
The Honda Elevate now gets the following features as standard: six airbags (earlier limited to the top-end ZX variant), three-point seat belts for all occupants, adjustable head restraints and seat-belt reminder, driver and passenger sunvisor vanity mirror, and a semi-digital instrument cluster (earlier limited to higher-spec VX and ZX variants).
The front AC vents and control knobs are now finished in silver in all the variants apart from the base model.

It is pretty evident from the above chart that the updated variants command a higher price tag. A hike of Rs 24,000 - Rs 41,000 can be noticed.
Honda City & City Hybrid
As part of its model year updates, the Honda City now comes with the following features as standard: 6 airbags and rear seat-belt reminders. A 4.2-inch colour LCD display has been introduced in the SV variant, while the VX trim is now offered with an 8-speaker premium surround sound system and rear sunshades. The hybrid variant of the City also gets seat-belt reminders for all 5 seats as standard.

It is evident from the chart above that all the variants of the Honda Amaze receive a price hike of around Rs 10,000, depending on the variant you choose from.
All these changes have been made to strengthen the positioning of Honda cars, considering many other manufacturers are already including these safety features as a standard equipment across their variant lineup. The Honda Elevate rivals the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun and Skoda Kushaq, while the Honda City rivals the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia and VW Virtus, and the Honda Amaze rivals the Hyundai Aura.
