Explained: Skoda India’s Action Packed 2022 Roadmap

The carmaker will begin this year’s innings by introducing the facelifted Kodiaq and following it with the Slavia, its second model based on the MQB-A0-IN platform
After posting an impressive 130 percent Year on Year (YoY) growth, Skoda India is starting to prepare for an action packed 2022, with no less than six launches. The facelifted Kodiaq, slated to launch on January 10, will begin the carmaker’s 2022 innings, followed by the Slavia in March. Also, the Kushaq, Octavia, and Superb will get new variants for better appeal.

Facelifted Skoda Kodiaq - January 10
Prices for the facelifted Skoda Kodiaq will be announced on January 10 and that will mark Skoda’s 2022 innings. It will come in three trims: Sportline (New), Style, and Laurin and Klement. Cosmetic and feature updates are on the offing, but the main change will be the presence of a 190PS 2-litre turbo-petrol engine instead of the 150PS 2-litre diesel engine.
Skoda Slavia - March 2022
The successor to the Rapid, the Skoda Slavia, will be launched in India in March 2022. It will be the second Skoda model based on the MQB-A0-IN platform after the Kushaq. New Variants For Kushaq, Octavia, and Superb
Apart from new product launches, Skoda will introduce new variants for the Kushaq, Octavia, and Superb. Details are yet to be known, but here’s our wishlist for these models. For the Kushaq, a top-spec Monte Carlo trim with digital driver’s display and sportier design touches would bring more appeal.
On the other hand, we wish the Octy gets a new entry-level trim (and probably) a 150PS 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine to drop its entry-level pricing. And for the Superb, you let us know what you would like to see in it in the comments below.
Other Points To Note

Skoda aims to sell around 70,000 cars this year. 65,000 units of the Slavia and Kushaq combined, while the rest will come from its CKD offerings, the Superb, Kodiaq, and Octavia.

Save for the Slavia, there won’t be a new model from the MQB-A0-IN platform this year.
