The facelifted SUV is available in three broad trims: Style, Sportline, and Laurin and Klement

For Skoda India, 2022 has begun with the Kodiaq SUV making a comeback in its facelifted avatar. Priced from Rs 34.99 lakh to Rs 37.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the midlife refresh for the premium 7-seater SUV brings a redesigned face, more tech, and a petrol engine.

We take a closer look at all the changes in the Kodiaq SUV in these detailed images:

Just by looking at the silhouette, you'd probably not be able to spot the design changes. That said, now, the front grille takes up more of the face and gets a splash of chrome for more bling. The headlamps are a touch sleeker than before, and the other subtle tweak has been made to the air dams.

The alloy wheels are new -- 18-inch dual-tone units. Rounding off the design changes are new tail lamps with dynamic turn indicators.

The Kodiaq is offered in three trims: Style, Sportline (new), and Laurin and Klement. The Sportline trim gets blacked-out elements both inside and outside for a sportier look.

A variety of body shades are on offer for the facelifted Kodiaq, depending on the trim chosen. These are:  Moon White (Style, Sportline, Laurin and Klement), Race Blue, Steel Grey (Sportline), Lava Blue, Magic Black, and Graphite Grey (Laurin and Klement).

Head inside the facelifted Kodiaq's cabin, and the differences are really difficult to spot, for the layout has remained as is. There's a new two-spoke steering wheel, yes. But every other feature is the same as the pre-facelift model, including the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, virtual cockpit, tri-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, and powered tailgate.

What the facelift brings, though, are wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, connected car tech, updated 12-speaker Canton sound system with subwoofer, and powered front seats with heating and ventilation.

The facelifted Kodiaq also features Skoda's 'Simply Clever' bits, such as dual gloveboxes, neck extensions for the middle row, and an umbrella storage compartment.

Safety features include nine airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold/descent control, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring, park assist, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.

The most significant change, however, is under the hood. The facelifted Kodiaq is now powered by a new 190PS 2-litre turbo-petrol engine, which replaces the 150PS 2-litre diesel engine. The 7-speed dual-clutch automatic is still there, distributing power to all four wheels. The carmaker's Dynamic Chassis Control allows you to adjust your dampers according to the kind of ride you prefer.

The facelifted Kodiaq is the first of six Skoda models up for launch in 2022. This midlife refresh pits the Kodiaq against the Volkswagen Tiguan, Toyota Fortuner petrol, Citroen C5 Aircross, and the upcoming Jeep Meridian.
