The cat is out of the bag before it’s supposed to be. Here’s your first look at the facelifted Hyundai Venue, which is likely to be launched on June 16 in India. This will be the first midlife refresh for the popular sub-4 metre SUV and it’s more than a minor nip and tuck. So without further ado, here are all the exterior details about the facelifted Venue in our image gallery.

Styling changes made to the facelifted Venue are in sync with the facelifted Creta and new Tucson, as it now follows Hyundai’s Parametric Design language.

Up front, the grille is now more squarer and takes up more real estate than before. It gets rectangular chrome inserts for a premium outfit and is flanked by a pair of split headlights. While the lower unit has been carried forward, the indicators on top are now sleeker and longer. Below it is a simply styled airdam with a long rectangular air intake.

In profile, save for the revised 16-inch dual-tone alloys, there are no other changes made to the side profile.

Hyundai has made radical changes to the Venue’s rear-end. It now gets split-LED tail lamps with rectangular elements a la the Ioniq 5. Plus, the rear bumpers have been tweaked, featuring a long rectangular insert that mimics the air dams.

The interior of the facelifted SUV is yet to be seen. But we reckon the dashboard could get some changes to accommodate the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system from Kia and Hyundai.

Other expected new features include ventilated front seats, a Bose sound system, and digitised instrument display (a la i20).

Features that will be retained include automatic climate control, a single-pane sunroof, wireless phone charger, cruise control, keyless entry with push button start, and connected car tech. Passenger safety should be taken care of by six airbags and electronic stability control.

The facelifted Venue will retain the existing 83PS 1.2-litre petrol, 100PS 1.5-litre diesel, and 120PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engines, paired with manual, automatic and clutchless manual transmissions, depending on the mill. It could also get the Sonet’s 115PS 1.5-litre diesel, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The facelifted Hyundai Venue is expected to be priced from Rs 7.2 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it in contention with the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, and the like.
