We have been waiting for Swedish bike maker Husqvarna to make its India debut for a while now and it seems that our prayers have finally been answered. Unofficial bookings for the Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 have commenced in Delhi and Mumbai for a token amount of Rs 5,000.
Both the Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 will be sold through KTM dealerships in India. These outlets will get a makeover by mid-October where a section will be dedicated to the Husky twins. This isn’t the first time we are seeing KTM sharing its showroom space with another bike maker in India. Until a few years back, the Austrian bike maker used to sell CKD Kawasakis in its showroom.
A few months back, a test mule of the India-spec Vitpilen 401 was spotted, giving us a clear idea of what we can expect from the upcoming motorcycle. For instance, the test mule featured alloy wheels from the KTM 390 Duke whereas the international-spec model comes equipped with spoke wheels. Apart from this, the twins will get a host of changes compared to their international variants, including a BS6-compliant engine. Now, we have done a detailed story, which you can read here.
The bike maker has already announced that the Vitpilen 401 will be the first bike to go on sale. Though they haven’t specified a timeline, we expect it to be launched by the end of this year. As of now, there’s no word on the price but the Vitpilen 401 could retail at Rs 3 lakh to Rs 3.2 lakh (ex-showroom).
