Price: The 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 has been launched at Rs 2,92,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Design: The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 combines the looks of a retro scrambler with modern design elements. At the front, it gets a round LED headlight accompanied by a small fly screen and has round rear-view mirrors. It comes with a single-piece handlebar. The fuel tank features modern design elements making it look muscular and edgy at the same time. It gets a split-seat setup, 100mm longer than the Svartpilen 250. The tail section looks sleek with a neat-looking LED taillight and a long number plate holder.

Features: The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 comes equipped with a round LED headlight with a positioning light ring along with an LED taillight. It features a new 5-inch bonded glass TFT display with optional smartphone connectivity and a standard Type-C charging port. The Svartpilen 401 is equipped with Ride-by-wire and also gets Quickshifter+ as standard, for effortless gearshifts. It also gets traction control and 4-way menu switches on the left switchgear.

Engine: The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 is powered by a BS6.2-compliant 398.63cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that delivers 46PS and 39Nm, paired with a revised 6-speed gearbox. It comes with a 13.5-litre fuel tank, 4 litres more than its smaller sibling, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250.

Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 is equipped with a new steel trellis frame and a lightweight aluminium swingarm. The bike gets a 43mm adjustable WP inverted open cartridge fork along with a preload adjustable WP apex rear monoshock. The Svartpilen 401 features 320mm front (with sintered pads) and 240mm rear Bybre disc brakes with Bosch switchable dual-channel ABS. The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 comes with an 820mm seat height, 22mm less than the Svartpilen 250. It has a ground clearance of 177mm which is 25mm more than its smaller sibling. The Svartpilen 401 has a kerb weight of 171.2kg. The 400cc scrambler rolls on 17-inch spoked wheels wrapped with 110-section front and 150-section rear Apollo Tramplr XR block-pattern tyres.

Rivals: The only other rival to the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 in the 400cc scrambler segment is the Triumph Scrambler 400X. For a similar price range, you can also consider the KTM Duke 390 and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and if you don’t mind stretching your budget a bit, you could even check out the Royal Enfield Continental GT650.
