It wasn’t too long ago when we witnessed a sea of carmakers hike prices of their offerings throughout the range, thanks to the more stringent BS6 Phase 2 emission norms that were enforced starting this April. However, the XUV300’s TurboSport variants were spared from an increment while all other Mahindras, including the other XUV300 variants, received a hefty bump. But the honeymoon period has now come to an end as a price hike for the XUV300 TurboSport is finally here. Here are the new prices:

The minimum price hike of Rs 34,000 has been given to the W8 TGDi DT variant, while the steepest increase of Rs 43,000 has been issued upon the W8 (O) TGDi variant. Price for the top-spec W8(O) TGDi trim has bumped up by Rs 40,000, which takes the XUV300 TurboSport’s prices across the Rs 13-lakh (ex-showroom) mark. The TGDi-equipped variants now retail between Rs 10.71 lakh and Rs 13.30 lakh (ex-showroom).

The TurboSport trims carry a premium of around Rs 50,000 over the corresponding variants that they are based on, and the price discrepancy is down to the tuned engine, which produces more power and the few cosmetic differences that set it apart from the standard variants. Being the sportier iteration of the standard XUV300, the TurboSport trim is an appropriate rival to the Hyundai Venue N Line, while the standard car is a rival to the likes of the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, and the Renault Kiger.
