This will be the first electric scooter born out of Hero’s partnership with Gogoro
The time to go electric is surely upon us as even Hero MotoCorp has announced that it will launch its first e-scooter by March 2022. Hero top boss Pawan Munjal had given us a slight glimpse of the scooter during the company’s 10th anniversary celebrations of going solo.
Hero claims that the project is in the advanced stages and will be manufactured at the company’s Chittoor-based plant. The same facility will also be the home for battery pack manufacturing and testing as well. The scooter is likely to pack swappable battery technology, the infrastructure and knowledge for which will be provided by Gogoro. Hero had entered into a partnership with the Taiwanese brand for its electric ventures.

Expect the scooter to have fairly conventional equipment. The list could include a conventional telescopic fork, drum brakes, a hub-mounted motor and probable LED illumination.
Hero is yet to reveal the power figures, pricing and other details but hopefully, the upcoming Hero EV should be easy on the pocket.
