Exclusive: BMW M340i To Look Meaner With The New Upcoming Shadow Edition

The deliveries of this meaner looking variant of the M340i will commence from June
BMW's M340i performance sedan’s sportier appeal is soon to be enhanced with the introduction of a new trim called "Shadow, Edition." It will have new aesthetic elements and certain add-ons that dials up the sporty quotient of the sedan. Let’s have a quick overview of what’s on offer and what will be new:
Enhanced Exterior Look
With the new “Shadow” edition, there will be no changes to the design of the M340i, but it will get the M-Sport Pro package featuring smoked headlamps with a blue outline. It will also feature red-painted brake calipers dialling up the sporty look. . And last but not the least, the Shadow edition will also come with the option of new Melbourne Red metallic paint on the exterior.
The M340i is already a good looking sedan to begin with and these touches raise up the aggression.

Same Interior With A Few Feature Add-Ons
Inside, the BMW M340i Shadow edition will look similar to its regular version, but will get M-Sport seat belts with red and blue stripes. Also, the dashboard features the same integrated floating curved screens, but now it also gets a 360-degree camera.And like before, it will still come with the combination of Alcantra upholstery with carbon fibre elements to set the tone on the inside.
No Mechanical Alterations
The powerhouse under the hood remains the same as before, which is a 3.0-litre inline 6 cylinder turbo-petrol engine (with mild-hybrid tech), making 374PS and 500Nm. The unit is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and drives all four wheels, which BMW likes to call xDrive that is rear biased. With such numbers, the M340i can go from nought to 100kmph in 4.4 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.
Expected Price & Launch
The BMW M340i’s Shadow edition is expected to cost nearly Rs 3 lakh more over the standard variant that costs Rs 69.20 lakh (ex-showroom). Its deliveries are expected to commence from June. The sportier version of the sedan is limited to the Audi S5.
