BMW Group India’s Joytown event was the setting for some new BMWs to make inroads to the country. There’s not one, but two new smoking hot bimmers being launched in India today: the XM Performance SUV and facelifted M340i performance sedan. BMW XM

Starting with the model that stole the spotlight today, the XM performance SUV. BMW M’s standalone model is priced from Rs 2.6 crore, and looks like nothing else on the road with its controversial design touches. It’s also got the power to match its looks, thanks to a plug-in hybrid 4.4-litre twin turbo V8 developing 653PS, easily making it one of the most powerful Bimmers there currently. Facelifted BMW M340i

If the XM SUV isn't to your taste and you are looking at a performance-oriented sedan, the carmaker has launched the facelifted M340i sedan at Rs 69.2 lakh, around Rs 30,000 more than before. Pre-launch bookings are underway and deliveries are slated to commence from January. This performance sedan previews the facelifted 3 Series, which will be launched later. Sharper looks and it being the debutant of BMW’s i-Drive 8 infotainment system are the main highlights. Its 387PS, 3-litre, six-cylinder heart remains unchanged.
