Ather Rizta’s Seat Teased By CEO, Tarun Mehta

The large seat is a firm indicator of Ather’s family-oriented approach with the electric scooter

(Update: Ather Energy has launched the all-new Ather Rizta family scooter. Check out the details in our launch story here.)

We’ve known for quite some time now that Ather Energy is launching a family-oriented scooter called the Ather Rizta very soon. And now the EV maker’s CEO, Tarun Mehta, has teased the seat of the electric scooter on the manufacturer’s social media handle.

In the teaser, Tarun Mehta places the Rizta’s seat next to another electric scooter’s seat (likely the Ola S1 Pro) and it looks much bigger in comparison. It is wider and longer than the other one, which also points towards the fact that the Rizta will be a more family-oriented scooter. When the scooter was spotted testing recently, we did see that the seat can comfortably fit two adults along with some luggage at the back. The floorboard space is also quite ample and overall, the scooter gets a boxy design language.

The Rizta will come equipped with a fully digital instrument console, but it’s not quite clear at this point of time whether it’ll be a TFT or LCD unit. The scooter is expected to get the same 2.9kWh capacity battery pack as the Ather 450S. It will be launched by mid-2024 and will likely be priced around the Rs 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom including FAME 2 subsidy) mark.
