KTM’s Baby Duke Spotted Testing With Significant Upgrades

We expect the whole revamped Duke series to arrive by late-2023

A revamp is underway for KTM's Duke series, as the smallest of them all was spotted on test overseas this past week. And from what we can see, it shares more or less the same updates we first saw on the 390 Duke.

Adding to the styling upgrades is a new headlight cluster, new body panels that are even sleeker than that on the current-gen bike, and sharp fuel tank extensions that are now longer.

Powering the small capacity naked is an updated 125cc engine, likely producing the same 14.95PS and 12Nm. However, we can expect it to be tuned to make it more usable like the 2022 RC200. The test mule shows a new engine casing and a bigger catalytic converter which is also positioned differently. Besides, it also gets a new exhaust setup.

As per what we can see from the pictures, the naked bike gets a tweaked trellis frame and a new rear subframe that resembles the next-gen 390 Duke, along with a new swingarm. The test mule is suspended on a WP inverted fork up front and at the rear it flaunts an offset rear monoshock, similar to the 2023 390 Duke. The next-gen 125 Duke will also get new wheels and disc rotors borrowed from the 2022 KTM RC200.

The upgrades on the upcoming 125 Duke make it a more attractive proposition than before, and we expect it to break cover by the end of 2023, with a price tag of around Rs 1.80 lakh.
