Polo And Vento Set To Get Pricier From January 2021

The increment has been attributed to the rising input costs

  • Prices of both models will be hiked by 2.5 percent across variants.

  • The Polo is priced from Rs 5.87 lakh to Rs 9.67 lakh (ex-showroom).

  • The Vento retails from Rs 8.93 lakh to Rs 13.39 lakh.

As we head into the final week of 2020, carmakers have been announcing price hikes on most, if not all their models. Volkswagen is the latest to join this list with a price hike for the Polo hatchback and the Vento, starting from January 2021.

Prices will be hiked by up to 2.5 percent across all variants of the Polo and the Vento. The carmaker has attributed this price revision to the rising input costs. The Polo currently retails from Rs 5.87 lakh to Rs 9.67 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in the Trendline, Comfortline, Highline Plus as well as the Red And White Edition variants. Engine options are a 76PS 1.0-litre MPI and a 110PS 1.0-litre TSI engine. The former is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission while the latter can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a torque converter automatic.

The Vento is priced from Rs 8.93 lakh to Rs 13.39 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in the Trendline, Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus as well as the Red And White Edition trims. It’s powered by a 110PS 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine with transmission options of either a 6-speed manual or a torque converter automatic.

Expect more carmakers to follow suit as we head closer to the end of 2020.
