The Drop Dead Gorgeous Ferrari Roma Can Be Yours For Rs 3.76 Crore

The Roma previews Maranello’s latest design language and tech whilst maintaining the charm of a Ferrari

The Roma, one of Ferrari’s newest berlinettas, has landed on our shores. Priced from Rs 3.76 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Roma brings the latest design language from the house of Maranello whilst maintaining the charm of a prancing horse. And we must admit, it looks drop dead gorgeous.

The designers at Maranello have also done an incredibly good job as the Roma will manage to withstand the test of time. The LED headlamps are sleeker than older Ferraris and flanking a colour coordinated grille that looks. Meanwhile, the haunches above the front wheel arches add aggression. In contrast, the side profile is smooth with soft flowing lines and flush-fitting door handles. The sleek LED tail lamps and dual exhausts give the rear end a dash of aggression.

Even the cabin offers a different atmosphere when compared to other Ferraris. The cockpit is divided into two with the central tunnel houses a new touchscreen infotainment system and an automatic gear selector mimicking a gated shifter. And as in all Ferraris, the co-driver gets his display.

But the highlights are in the driver’s side of the cockpit. The analogue dials, that looked quintessential Ferrari, are now replaced by a digital driver’s display. Even most of the controls, including the starter button on the steering wheel, are replaced with touch-sensitive controls. All good for the modern day, but this author does miss that centrally placed tacho of the Ferraris of yesteryear.

Under the hood is Ferrari’s mid-mounted 3.9-litre turbocharged V8 that belts out 612PS and 760Nm. All that power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed DCT from the SF90. The result? It does 0-100kmph in 3.4 seconds while 200kmph comes up in an additional 5.9 seconds. Keep the pedal pinned and it will max out at an eye-watering 320kmph.

This incredible feat is achieved by the amount of work done under the skin. While the Roma’s 2,670mm wheelbase is the same as the Portofino, the former is lighter by 75kg at 1,472kg. So the end result is a Ferrari that's lighter, faster, and more agile.

So clearly, the Roma is one of the finest works of art from Italy. At this pricing, the Roma rivals the Mercedes-AMG GT R, Lamborghini Huracan, and the McLaren GT.
