Fast-paced video teases new ‘Sports Tourer’ from Mercedes-Benz; set to be unveiled at 2018 Paris Auto Show

2019 Mercedes-Benz B-Class Teased

Mercedes-Benz has teased the third-generation B-Class hatchback/small-MPV before its official unveil at the 2018 Paris Auto Show which begins tomorrow (October 2). A fast-paced video previews parts of a car that seems to have borrowed elements seen on new-generation Mercedes-Benz cars. Unfortunately, we cannot share the video here as it is not available on YouTube, but here’s all there is to know through a series of photos.

First, there’s that silhouette (in the photo above), it shows a large hatchback with lights which look similar to that of the new-age A-Class hatchback.

The grille, in typical Mercedes-Benz fashion, features a large three-pointed star, a single chrome bar and star-like studs. The grille is sleeker than before and features a hexagonal design first seen on the Mercedes-AMG One hypercar.

The new B-Class will feature all-LED headlamps and the company’s new LED signature DRLs.

The front bumper will feature large air-intakes for that ‘sporty’ look.

While a large roof-mounted spoiler is also present at the back. The heavily raked windshield is blocked on both sides by black vanity panels.

Mercedes-Benz is upping the game in terms of interior design and feel, and the B-Class is no exception. Here, the leather upholstery with contrast stitching on the dashboard can be seen.

Faux-leather, brushed aluminium inserts and ambient lighting. The B-Class gets it all.

The beautiful AC vent design makes it to the B-Class...

...while the S-Class’ touch-sensitive buttons on the steering wheel are also offered.

The MBUX multimedia system, which utilises two 10.25-inch all-digital screens, makes it to the B-Class.

The system can be controlled via the touch-enabled centre screen, buttons on the steering or the redesigned touch-sensitive pad on the lower centre console.

Rear cabin space and practicality is very important.

Comfort here is enhanced thanks to AC vents for the rear passengers.

The seats can be split folded in a 40:20:40 manner, or folded completely to allow packing in a lot of stuff...

...including a small kayak for the adventurous types.

While Mercedes-Benz has not completely revealed the specs of the new B-Class, expect it to feature efficient 4-cylinder petrol and diesel motors paired with 9-speed automatic transmissions. Electric/hybrid versions of the B-Class will be launched under the umbrella of the new EQ sub-brand, which currently consists only of the EQC SUV, which was unveiled last month.
