You Can Take This Scooter For A Pic Nic

The Pic Nic 150 comes with a basket, removable cooler bag and a waterproof blanket

Italian manufacturer Vespa has launched a new variant of the Primavera - the Pic Nic. It is exactly what you might expect: a scooter designed for people who enjoy picnics.

The Pic Nic retains Vespa’s iconic styling and gets a round headlight, similar to the one on the VXL 150. To fit the relaxed, outdoorsy intentions, it is fitted with a pretty-looking picnic basket. The basket contains a rather convenient removable cooler bag and waterproof blanket. Complementing the woven basket is the beige seat which features a woven pattern as well and gets a dark brown stripe.

The Pic Nic is mechanically unchanged from the Primavera 150. It is also powered by the same 154.8cc air-cooled engine making 12.88PS and 12.8Nm. That makes it 2.41PS more powerful than the VXL 150. For better stopping power, the scooter gets disc brakes on both ends.

While the 8-litre fuel tank adds to its practicality, the 790mm seat height is a bit on the higher side for a scooter. The Pic Nic is available in two colour options: Verde (green) and Grigio Pic Nic (grey).

Although it's a global launch, we've got our hands on the pricing from Malaysia - a country where only 39 units of the Pic Nic will be sold. Vespa has priced the scooter at RM 19,900 (approximately Rs 3.56 lakh) there, making it quite a pricey proposition, as Vespas have usually been.
