Sure, this milestone might have taken a while to achieve, but the Magnite put Nissan India back on the radar when the carmaker was struggling to pull customers

The Magnite, which managed to put Nissan India back on radar, has racked up over one lakh orders in the country. Launched back in December 2020, the Magnite is Nissan’s sub-4 metre SUV that takes on biggies like the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and the like. Its value for money launch pricing has helped it to establish itself in the country.

The Magnite came at a time when Nissan was struggling to pull customers into its showrooms. But its bold styling touches, a lengthy feature list, and two petrol engines have made the Magnite an attractive choice. Moreover, when the Magnite was launched in India, its Rs 4.99 lakh launch price undercut the segment by a big margin, giving you an option of sub-4 metre SUV on a budget.

In terms of features, the Magnite gets all the bases covered with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, cruise control, keyless entry with push button start, steering mounted audio controls, and connected car tech.

The Magnite gets the option of either a 72PS 1-litre naturally aspirated or a 100PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine option. A 5-speed manual is standard, while the turbo-petrol mill can be specced with an optional CVT.

The Nissan Magnite is priced from Rs 5.88 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it in contention with the Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and the like.
