It’s been barely a year since Citroen launched the C5 Aircross in India, but the French carmaker has given the SUV a facelift overseas. With this update, the C5 Aircross brings more stealth and an opulent cabin to the table. We expect the facelifted SUV to be brought here sometime in 2023.

Starting with the design updates. The two-piece grille and split headlights have made way for larger single-piece units, and this gives the front end a fresher look. Also, the DRLs now extend to the logo and Citroen has made them classier with interrupted lines that look uber cool. Rounding out the updates at the front is the more cleanly styled front bumper.

In profile, the SUV rolls on a new set of dual-tone alloys, while the ORVMs get a sporty gloss black treatment. The LED tail lamps might seem similar, but they get new light signatures for a 3D effect. A redesigned rear bumper rounds off the design. Overall, the updates might seem subtle, but they go a long way to give the C5 Aircross a classier look.

Thankfully, changes on the inside are much easier to spot, credits to the new 10-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system. The larger unit means the AC vents are now placed beneath the touchscreen system, and this lends it a classier look. Keen eyes will also notice the gear lever has been replaced by a toggle switch  the Octavia

Citroen has always been associated with Comfort, and the facelifted C5 Aircross takes things a notch further. It now gets Citroen’s new Advanced Comfort seats with 15mm additional foam and heating and massaging functions. The Progressive Hydraulic Cushion suspension has also been retained.

Engines are market specific and the SUV gets a choice of petrol, diesel, and hybrid powertrains. In India, the C5 Aircross gets the 177PS 2-litre diesel engine, driving the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Currently, the C5 Aircross is priced from Rs 32.74 lakh (ex-showroom), and the facelift could command a premium when it comes here. It will lock horns with the VW Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq, and other similarly priced SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster
