You Will Have To Spend More For A Citroen Come January 2023

The carmaker will increase prices across models and variants by up to two per cent

Carmakers often adjust prices of their models at this time of the year and Citroen has announced a price hike as well. The French carmaker will increase the prices of its two offerings, the C3 hatchback and C5 Aircross SUV, by up to two per cent, from January 2023.

The above prices are estimates calculated according to the announced two per cent increase; the actual hike could differ from variant to variant as the carmaker said the price hike could range between one and a half per cent and two per cent.

Nevertheless, expect to spend up to Rs 12,000 to Rs 13,000 more on a C3 hatchback from January, with the turbo variant likely to get the biggest hike of up to around Rs 15,000. The premium C5 Aircross is offered in a single, fully loaded Shine variant that is likely to be pricier by Rs 73,000.

Bear in mind that these prices will come into effect in January, and the existing stock is being sold at the December 2022 prices right now (see table). These prices can vary from dealer to dealer as it’s only for existing stock. So, if the dealer runs out of inventory in December, you’ll have to shell out for new prices, regardless of when the booking is made.

Carmakers increase prices at the beginning of every year to compensate for inflation and other factors that increase car prices. Other than Citroen, Maruti, Kia and Renault have also announced price hikes for their cars sold in India.
