The Hosur-based brand has bought a majority stake in Switzerland’s EGO Movement
Hot on the heels of the launch of the Raider 125 (more details in this story), TVS has announced that it has entered into a partnership with EGO Movement, a Swiss e-bike maker, to create e-bikes for Europe, to begin with. TVS holds the majority interest in this deal with the aim to increase its global footprint, especially in established markets.

This is TVS’ second major investment in Europe, the first one being the acquisition of Norton Motorcycles, the then-bankrupt British icon. With EGO, TVS wants to create a series of aspirational products that are built on the ethos of sustainability.
EGO sells e-bikes in Germany, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. Each one of them has a unique rustic charm with a few models named after figures from the Roman empire like Cleopatra and Caesar. These products look quite premium and stylish.
Given the rise of e-bikes in India, TVS could very well look to bring something that suits the Indian conditions in a year or two.
