The 7-Seater Hyundai Creta Looks Like A Full-Size SUV

It is expected to be at least 30mm longer than the 5-seater version

  • The 7-seater Creta will feature distinct rear-end styling.
  • Existing powertrain options likely to be carried forward.
  • The 5-seater Creta is priced from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 17.20 lakh (ex-showroom).

Until a few days ago, we didn't know Hyundai was working on a 7-seater version of the Creta. Thanks to a spy shot, we found out that the extended version of the SUV is already on track and is being tested on South Korean roads. Now, a new spy shot has surfaced revealing more details about the upcoming SUV.

The new spy shot reveals the differences in dimension compared to the standard version. It is a much bigger SUV in every sense with the obvious difference being the increase in overall length. The 7-seater Creta also looks taller than the standard version and is expected to come with a distinct rear-end styling. The Creta measures 4,300mm and we expect the 7-seater to get a bump of 30mm in the overall length.

From a recent spy shot, we could make out that the 7-seater Creta will feature an updated rear-end design with new tail lamps and bumper design. The front end is also expected to see some changes in the form of a revised grille and bumper design. Basically, the 7-seater Creta will feature some differentiation from the 5-seater Creta, similar to what we’ve seen with the Harrier and Gravitas.

The existing set of powertrain options are likely to be carried on to the 7-seater Creta. In India, the options are a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol, 1.5-litre diesel, and 1.5-litre petrol engine. The turbo-petrol puts out 140PS/242Nm, while the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines make 115PS. Gearbox options on offer are a CVT, 6-speed MT/AT, and a 7-speed DCT.

Same goes for the features as the 7-seater Creta is expected to carry on the 10.25-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, BlueLink connected car tech, digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, Bose audio system, and paddle shifters (only with the 7-speed DCT).

At present, the Creta is priced from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 17.20 lakh (ex-showroom). Hyundai might bring the 7-seater Creta to India to take on the MG Hector Plus and the Tata Gravitas. But don't expect that to happen until 2021.
