Isuzu first showcased the D-Max V-Cross in India at the 2016 Auto Expo, launching it later that year. It soon went on to become India’s best selling lifestyle pickup truck. Now, to further strengthen its position in the segment, it seems like the Japanese manufacturer is planning to launch an updated version and a new variant of the V-Cross. The updated V-Cross has already been spotted at a dealership and will be to be showcased at the upcoming Auto Expo.

Let’s take a closer look what the 2018 D-Max V-Cross has on offer. Starting with design, the front fascia on the new V-Cross looks quite similar to the existing model except for the fog lamps that are replaced by new LED DRLs. We expected the facelift to look similar to the international-spec model which was launched last year in countries like the UK and Thailand, but that sadly hasn’t been the case at the front. However, Isuzu has updated the rear of the V-Cross to make it look similar to the international version. It gets a redesigned tailgate, while the top variant will also get LED tail lamps and chrome inserts on the bumper.

On the inside, the V-Cross will remain the same but the new range-topping variant will get updated black interiors with 6-way adjustable driver seat. It will continue to come with the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system as standard and will also have rear parking camera support.

In terms of safety, Isuzu will continue to offer features such ABS, EBD, BA (Brake Assist), dual airbags and ISOFIX as standard across both variants. However, the range-topping variant will get additional features such as ESC (Electronic Stability Control), TCS (Traction Control System) and cruise control.

Under the bonnet, the 2018 V-Cross is likely to get the same 2.5-litre diesel engine which produces 134PS of power and 320Nm of torque. It is expected to be mated to the same 5-speed manual transmission and have the shift-on-the-fly 4WD system like the current model.
