Lamborghini Huracan STJ Revealed: Swansong For Epic Naturally Aspirated V10!


For the STJ, the folks at Sant’ Agata Bolognese have taken the Huracan STO as the base and have gone bonkers with it!

It’s always sad when someone close to you is not going to be there anymore with you. A similar grief strikes petrolheads for the screaming V10 from Lamborghini, which is soon going to be laid to rest. But before that final curtain, Lamborghini has prepared an epic farewell for its V10-powered supercar, one that’s limited to just 10 units. 

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the Lamborghini Huracan STJ! A bonkers looking supercar with an insane amount of aerodynamic wizardry to squeeze out as much grip and performance as possible. So what have they done exactly? Take the Lamborghini Huracan STO, a thorough track-bred supercar that’s road legal, and unshackle the engineers from the usual product planning process. The only limitation? Make sure you can put a number plate on it! 

The STJ’s aerodynamics package is created by the folks from Lamborghini Squadra Corse technicians who mainly work on the Lambos that participate in Gran Turismo competitions. For starters, the rear wing’s angle has been increased by three degrees, which Lambo claims allows for a percent 10 percent increase in balance, improving the car’s balance. 

Downforce sorted, but what about grip? The STJ relies on four adjustable racing-derived shocks, which allows you to individually adjust its rebound and compression. And to ensure you get maximum grip, Lambo has slapped on sticky Bridgestone Potenza race tyres on those 20-inch rims with centre locks, made specifically with a specific compound that ensures it sticks on the road. 

Yes, you need such sticky tyres, considering the puissance comes from the iconic 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine belting out 640 PS and 565 Nm. Like the STO,  drive is sent to the rear wheels only and you need that additional grip to keep this beast pointing in the right direction.

To match the looks for its grunt, Lamborghini will offer the Huracan STJ in two drool-worthy hues. The first is the Grigio Telesto (gray) hue paired with a Nero Noctis (black) roof and Rosso Mars (red) and Bianco Isi (white) details.Your second option is the one pictured here: Blu Eliadi (blue) colour with a Nero Noctis (black) roof and Rosso Mars (red) and Bianco Isi (white) details. 

Of course, these 10 cars will have a special, numbered carbon fiber plate from “1 to 10”. And on top of that, you can have a custom plate on the passenger side according to your instructions. 

It’s clear that we are approaching the end of an era and will eventually adapt to the changing automotive landscape. Lamborghini is not getting rid of noisy engines altogether, but the pure era of natural aspiration is at its end with the future Italian supercars using hybrid technology. And if the Revuelto is no less than exciting, expectations are definitely sky high!
