It still rides on an identical 2600mm wheelbase, but the new City is longer and wider, courtesy a heavily revised platform. The new City’s design looks premium with elements borrowed from the Accord and Civic. Even the interior is more European with a cleaner and simpler design which we really like. Honda has also loaded the new City decently. New additions include Honda’s LaneWatch Camera (part of blindspot monitoring wherein a camera is placed on the left side outside rearview mirror), a semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch screen, connected car technology with Alexa remote capability, and a tyre pressure monitor. Carryover features include touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, cruise control, a sunroof, keyless entry with push-button start and auto headlamps. Safety features on offer are six airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors with a rearview camera and electronic stability control. The new Honda City’s petrol engine has 2PS more power but the torque figure remains unchanged. It also gets a new 6-speed manual over the 5-speed manual transmission offered in the fourth-gen City. The new petrol engine also claims an extra 0.4kmpl of mileage.
