This Full-Size Adventure Bike Costs Less Than The KTM 390 Adventure

The entry-level adventure bike looks a lot like the Triumph Tiger 800

  • Priced at GBP 4,495 (Rs 4.31 lakh) on road in the UK.
  • Gets a 380cc parallel-twin motor.
  • Features long-travel suspension and dual-purpose tyres.
  • Sinnis T 380 motorcycle

UK-based bikemaker Sinnis is set to enter the full-size adventure touring market with the Terrain 380 Adventure. The 380cc adventure motorcycle will be launched in the UK by September this year. Its primary competitor there is the KTM 390 Adventure which costs a whopping GBP 1,000 (Rs 96,000) more.

Despite the price difference, the Terrain 380 packs a host of features such as all-LED lighting, BMW GS-esque LED projector headlamp, and a Bluetooth-enabled colour LCD instrument console. Even more impressive are the adventure-oriented accessories like the tall windscreen, 12-volt power socket, USB charger and guardrails that protect the side fairings, forks, engine and sump. It also gets luggage rails that are available with a 105-litre hard pannier set, a GBP 255 (Rs 24,000) option.

Power comes from a 380cc parallel-twin motor that delivers 37PS and 35Nm. Sinnis claims a mileage of 29.76kmpl. It gets an 19-litre fuel tank so range should be around 565km. Long-travel suspension components include upside-down adjustable forks and adjustable monoshock. It gets 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with dual-purpose 110/80-19 and 140/70-17 tubeless tyres. Braking is via dual front discs with radially mounted calipers and a rear disc brake. It gets a comparatively lower 820mm seat height and weighs a hefty 200kg.

It is highly unlikely that the Sinnis Terrain 380 will be launched in India. Affordable adventure motorcycle options in India are the Hero Xpulse 200, Royal Enfield Himalayan and KTM 390 Adventure.
