Mini India organized the ‘Mini Urban Drive’ In Pune last weekend. As a part of the event, we along with potential customers were invited to have some fun with Mini cars at the Dhole Patil College of Engineering.

As a part of the event, potential customers were invited and got to drive the cars on a slalom course and then test the ABS in a hard braking test. Part of the lineup was the Mini 3-Door, Mini Cooper Convertible, Countryman and the Clubman.

Before the driving began, two instructors put up a small stunt show for the people there, which involved a few j-turns and powerslide parking manoeuvres. Soon after, we were briefed on how to attempt the Slalom course, which was laid out very tightly to further exhibit the Mini’s handling capabilities. We got the drive the Mini 3-Door around the course and managed to finish it in a competitive time.

The next course was the braking test in which we had to brake hard and make a quick lane change at the end. This activity also involved braking hard with hands off the steering wheel, which would help customers feel the stability of the car under hard braking and experience the working of the ABS and stability control.

Alongside these two tests, there was also a setup of official Mini accessories and merchandise to depict the brand’s lifestyle and what it stands for.

The Mini Urban Drive tour travels across 7 cities in the country: Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Delhi. If you are looking to buy a Mini and live in one of these locations, do contact the showroom for the drive experience.
