India Bike Week 2016 Goa

Non-motorcycling enthusiasts often wonder why the India Bike Week has been given that name when the event lasts just for two days. The two days of IBW are in fact just a pit-stop where biker buddies gather and meet like minded people. The event is all about celebrating the ride and sharing stories over these two days. On this first day of the India Bike Week 2016 more than 12,000 such people gathered at Baga, Goa.

The day started with biking communities of every manufacturer present riding across the parade pathway leading to the center stage. DSK-Benelli took the wraps off two of their upcoming motorcycles the TrK 502 and the Tornado 300. Triumph showcased the entire Bonneville range along with the Thruxton R.

Ducati was the only bike maker to launch a new product at the India Bike Week 2016. The Italian bike maker launched the new 959 Panigale which can now be booked at dealerships. Deliveries for the 959 Panigale will commence in July though.

While all of these motorcycle manufacturers were showcasing this products, headlining the India Bike Week 2016 was Dougie Lampkin, the undisputed King of Trials. Winner of 12 Trial championships, Dougie has recently been honored with MBE for his contribution to the sport. Dougie took the center stage and flaunted his skill in front of the crowd. Talking about Motorsport icons, CS Santosh also shared his experiences of the Dakar Rally at the Big Trip pavilion at the India Bike Week 2016.

Aside from all the  unveils and interactions, IBW also witnessed the National Stunt Biking Championship, the Harley Davidson custom bike build-off, the Triumph Tiger academy, Dyno wars and more.

Day 1 at the India Bike Week came to a rocking end with performances by Soulmate and The Other People at the DSK –Benelli stage. Day 2 will celebrate vintage icons of IBW, Mod bike parade, Harley big bike demo and finally a performance by Midival Punditz.
