According to dealer sources, Hyundai has discontinued Creta’s MT-equipped petrol and diesel variants of the second-from-the-top SX trim. The carmaker earlier introduced a new mid-spec SX Executive trim, which comes with a manual gearbox only and is positioned below the SX. However, the discontinuation is yet to reflect on Hyundai’s official website. Moreover, We reckon Hyundai discontinued the said variants due to having introduced the new SX Executive, which is available with a 6-speed MT only and the same engine options as the SX. It is Rs 78,800 more affordable than the now-discontinued SX variants. However, the SX Executive misses out on an infotainment system but gets other features like a wireless charger, a panoramic sunroof, auto air conditioning, and cruise control. On the other, if you want features like Brake Assist, Anti Theft Alarm, Centrally Mounted Fuel Tank, an 10 inch Touch Screen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Leather Seats, etc, then you may go for HTX G petrol variant. This is the variant to go for those looking to get a premium iteration of the Seltos. While this variant is the most affordable one that offers the 1.5-litre petrol with an automatic gearbox, the diesel engine is only available with a manual transmission. That aside, this variant gets most of the Seltos’ segment-first features and asks for a healthy but rather acceptable premium.
