It is fair to say the Chinese car makers have invaded the Indian Auto Expo. Great Wall Motors and MG/SAIC had the biggest stalls at the 15th edition of India’s premier auto show. Of the 14 cars that MG brought to the show, the Vision-I gives us a sneak peek into the future of internet and autonomous cars. Here’s what the fuss is all about:
The Vision-I is an MPV with twin sliding doors and an extremely roomy cabin devoid of any sort of screens. Weird, right? This is because the Vision-I is an autonomous mobility solution that can seat four occupants.
MG’s parent company SAIC first unveiled the Vision-I, which showcases the brand’s expertise and future direction, as the Roewe Vision-i at the 2019 Shanghai Motor Show. MG is using the Vision-I in India to improve its brand portfolio at the expo. The chances of this making its way into India as a production version is highly unlikely.
As we mentioned, the biggest highlight of the Vision-I is its 5G enabled cabin and autonomous tech. The design is nothing to write home about, with futuristic elements and a typical MPV stance.
