KTM has revealed the first photos of the upcoming 1290 Super Duke GT ahead of the official unveiling at the EICMA next month.

Built as a sport tourer and based on the 1290 Super Duke R, the new 1290 Super Duke GT gets a windscreen with eight positions, wider seats for touring, a larger fuel tank, and a revised subframe as well.

Technically, the 1,301cc V-twin motor gets new cylinder heads, revised combustion and new ignition maps to get smoother and more linear power delivery for touring duty. The 1290 Super Duke GT will offer three classic modes – Sport, Street and Rain, with four-way adjustable semi-active WP suspensions and anti-dive, as well as Motorcycle Stability Control.

Overall, the 1290 Super Duke GT’s engine has been tuned to deliver the same character as the Super Duke R’s but with more linear power delivery for touring, unless of course, it’s switched on to Sport mode, where it is expected to deliver the same hooligan power the Super Duke R is identified with.

There’s traction control too and combined ABS with different settings – Street, Rain, Sport and Supermoto. Cruise control, heated grips and quick shifter are expected to be standard features on the Super Duke GT. The bike will be officially unveiled at the EICMA show in Milan in November when more details will be revealed.
