One of the most highly anticipated motorcycles, the next-gen KTM 390 Adventure has been spotted testing again and these spy shots have provided the clearest view of the upcoming ADV yet. Alongside it, an Enduro model has also been spotted, that piques our interest.
The next-gen KTM 390 Adventure gets a vertically stacked dual projector headlight setup with LED DRLs surrounding it. Adding to that rugged appeal is the taller windshield and new sleeker LED turn indicators. The design of the grab rails is also different and the taillight is slimmer. A very interesting and non-ADV bit on the test mules is the underbelly exhaust, same as the new KTM Duke 390 but whether that’ll affect the ADV’s ground clearance and water wading capabilities, is something that remains to be seen.
The 390 Adventure gets a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup with Metzeler Tourance tyres. The rest of the details like the TFT instrument console mounted high above the handlebar similar to that of a rally bike and the single-piece contoured seat are the same as what was spotted couple of months ago.
The Enduro model, which could be called the KTM 390 Adventure R, gets a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel setup with Reise trailR tyres. It doesn’t get a half-fairing like the 390 Adventure instead it gets sharp tank extensions and a single-piece LED headlight setup. The bike gets an adjustable long travel suspension setup from WP Suspension and features upright ergonomics with mid-set bear claw footpegs and rubber inserts. It doesn’t get any grab rails and the instrument console is likely to be an LCD unit.
Both the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure and Adventure R will be powered by the same 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 46PS and 39Nm found in the new 390 Duke with a slightly different engine tune to suit the ADV's character better. The 390 Adventure is likely to be priced around Rs 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom) mark while the Adventure R could get a Rs 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom) price tag. Both bikes are expected to be showcased at EICMA 2024 first, with the launch expected to happen by the end of 2024 or early 2025.
