British luxury carmaker Rolls-Royce has delivered its first Spectre in India. The ultra-luxury EV sedan has not been officially launched in India yet, despite being unveiled in October 2022. However, Rolls-Royce has delivered its first unit in India, and images of its delivery have surfaced online. Let's take a look:

The Spectre is a spiritual successor of sorts to the Phantom, and has a design true to the Rolls-Royce tradition with several EV-specific elements. It features the trademark Rolls-Royce grille, now illuminated, creating a delightful ambiance at night. The Spirit of Ecstasy ornament is also designed with aerodynamics in mind, as the Spectre has a drag coefficient of 0.25cd. It is equipped with 23-inch wheels, a first for any Rolls-Royce two-door coupe, while the rear profile boasts vertical taillight elements that are both simple and elegant.

The iconic starlight liner, originally exclusive to the roof of Rolls-Royce cars, has now been extended to the door pads in the Spectre. Additionally, it can be customised with wood panelling. Adding a touch of sophistication is the dashboard panel on the passenger side which gets illuminated with the ‘Spectre’ nameplate and becomes completely invisible when the car is not in operation.

As for the features, the Spectre is equipped with a fully digital driver’s display with Rolls-Royce’s new ‘Spirit’ software platform, which also supports connected car technology and manages most of the car’s functions. Passengers are welcomed by a digital display that can showcase digitised art or a welcome animation as customised by the owner.

The electric powertrain of the Spectre produces 593PS and 900Nm, providing a WLTP-claimed range of 520km. Weighing nearly 3 tonnes, it boasts an impressive 0-100kmph acceleration time of 4.5 seconds.

We expect Rolls-Royce to officially launch the Spectre in India soon, as the model is already on sale globally. Positioned between the Cullinan and the Phantom, it serves as an EV alternative to cars like the Bentley Flying Spur and Bentley Continental in India.
