Rajamangala Stadium set for 2012 Race of Champions in Bangkok

The Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok is geared up to host the 2012 Race of Champions from December 14-16, 2012 along with the ROC Rocks festival

The Rajmangala Stadium in Bangkok is all set for the 2012 Race of Champions, which in its 25th edition will feature global stars of motorsport. Also on cards is the ‘ROC Rocks’ festival. 


The festival will feature stunt shows besides the Nations Cup and individual event. David Coulthard and four-time world stunt riding champion Chris Pfeiffer will be at the Red Bull stand while 2012 MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo will visit the Yamaha stand. Toyota will stage drift demonstrations. 


Demonstration runs of the Red Bull F1 car and Jorge Lorenzo’s Yamaha bike are scheduled. Pfeiffer and Bill Dixon will stage bike stunts and Terry Grant the car stunt man will attempt a world record for donuts while standing on the roof of his car.


The Nations Cup race will be divided into two groups. Group A will have Team France (Romain Grosjean and Sebastian Ogier), Team Great Britain (David Coulthard and Andy Priaulx), Team Americas (Ryan Hunter-Rheay and Benito Guerra), Team All Stars (Tom Kristensen and Jorge Lorenzo). Group B will have Team Germany (Sebastian Vettel and Michael Schumacher), Team Thailand (the two finalists from ROC Thailand), Team Australia (Mick Doohan and Jamie Whincup), Team Asia (The leading ROC Asia team other than Thailand). The ROC Nations Cup and Race of Champions will be telecast by the Sony Entertainment Network in India.
