AF Racing, a motorsport outfit that runs Aston Martins in Deustche Tourenwagen Masters and is also part of the Aston Martin Valkyrie hyper car project, has announced that its subsidiary, Vynamic GmBH, will build 38 units of the svelte Vantage V12 Zagato to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Milanese coachbuilder Zagato. The company intends to build 19 units of the coupe and speedster versions of the Vantage V12 Zagato that was first introduced in 2011. Set to be called the Vantage V12 Zagato Heritage TWINS by R-Reforged, the cars will be launched under AF Racing’s new brand, R-Reforged.

The Vantage V12 Zagato Heritage TWINS look similar to the Vantage V12 Zagato from 2011. So, it gets a typical Aston Martin grille, headlights a double bubble roof and dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, things are a bit different as the latest special edition models have gotten rid of the spoiler for a cleaner look. Meanwhile, the round tail lamps from the Vantage V12 Zagato have been retained. The new special edition cars will be offered in a lot more colours than the original version too.

Even though AF Racing hasn’t released the specifications of the Vantage V12 Zagato Heritage TWINS, we expect it to be powered by the same 6.0-litre V12 as the original version. This naturally aspirated unit produces 510PS of power and 570Nm of torque. The newest Aston Martin Vantage, meanwhile, employs a 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo sourced from AMG. It produces the same amount of power and more torque than the V12.

With deliveries expected to start in the last quarter of 2019, the special edition Vantage will be assembled by Vynamic GmbH, a subsidiary of AF Racing AG that also produces Aston Martin race cars for DTM. So if you want to pick one of these special edition Vantages, take your cheque book and head to the nearest Aston Martin showroom as only 38 units of this gorgeous sports cars will ever be made.

Finally, for those of you who don't know Zagato, the firm is a coachbuilding company located in Milan, Italy. Aston and Zagato have had a long standing relationship dating back to the 1960s.
