About UM Motorcycles Renegade Commando

The Renegade family from UM Motorcycles is an all-new series of motorcycles targeted at buyers wanting a cruiser-eqsue motorcycle in the entry-level performance category. UM is an all-new manufacturer itself, and has a 50:50 JV with Lohia Auto, while its roots are American. The bikes are being manufactured at Lohia's production facility in Uttarakhand, and are on sale now, though the manufacturer is yet to setup it dealer network properly in the country. The Renegade Sport S and Commando are both powered by the same 280cc, liquid-cooled single cylinder engine producing about 25PS of power and 21.8Nm of torque, which is mated to a six-speed transmission. They claim cruiser virtues meaning the bikes should be comfortable enough to be ridden for long distances.

UM Motorcycles is an entirely-new name in the Indian two-wheeler space and is targeting cruiser buyers on a budget with its offerings. That said they are also targeting Royal Enfield buyers, though the latter is a very old and revered name, and to make a dent in Royal Enfield's share, the Renegades will have to be seriously good
