Triumph has pulled the covers off its smallest Bonneville yet: the Bonneville T40. And while the name, styling and general vibe are unmistakably Bonneville, there is a lot going on underneath that retro charm.
Available in three variants: T4, T40 and T40 Black variants, the new Triumph bike brings the classic Bonneville experience to a much wider audience with a completely new chassis, a 349cc engine and an electronics package that is anything but old-school.

| Variant | Price (ex-showroom, Delhi) |
| Bonneville T4 | Rs 2,54,999 |
| Bonneville T40/ T40 Black | Rs 2.79,999 |
Deliveries for the top-end T40 and T40 Black will commence from the second week of Nov’26 . As for the Bonneville T4, deliveries to start from the second week of Jan’27.
The easiest way to describe the T40 is to imagine a Bonneville T100 that has been put through the Triumph 400 treatment. The proportions are more compact, but visually, the recipe remains almost the same.
You get the classic teardrop fuel tank, round LED headlight, long mudguards, single-pod-style circular instrument housing and peashooter exhaust. Twin rear shocks and spoked wheels complete the traditional silhouette.
And Triumph hasn't just slapped a retro paint job on a modern motorcycle and called it a day. The T40 gets hand-painted coach lining, rubber knee pads, the iconic three-bar Triumph tank badge and aluminium engine covers. The T40 gets chrome and brushed-metal finishes, while the T40 Black goes for a much darker treatment.
The T40 comes in four gorgeous colours: Meriden Blue, Aegean Blue, Fusion White and Matt Pewter Grey. If you ask us, it is the Meriden Blue which is our favourite of the lot.

The base T4 gets three single tone colours: Phantom Black, Carnival Red & Competition Green.
The baby Bonnie gets a 4-inch full-colour TFT display. It offers full smartphone connectivity, music and call controls, and, rather surprisingly for a motorcycle that looks like it belongs in the 1960s, full map navigation.
There are five riding modes: Road, Rain and Eco, plus two customisable modes. The bike also gets cruise control, self-cancelling indicators, a USB-C charging socket and Emergency Deceleration Warning.
Rider safety aids include lean-sensitive cornering ABS and cornering traction control. That's an impressive amount of rider assistance for a motorcycle in this segment.
There's even a Heritage Mode for the TFT, which switches the display to an analogue-style layout so you can have all the modern tech without completely ruining the retro vibe.

The T4, on the other hand, gets a colour LCD console. While it is not as feature-packed as the T40, it does get quite a lot of features. The list includes: turn-by-turn navigation, 3 ride modes, dual-channel ABS and smartphone connectivity which enable call/SMS alerts. The T4 misses out on a charging port.
Power comes from the latest iteration of Triumph's 349cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. It gets the same state of engine tune as the Speed T4 and has a 6-speed gearbox.
It produces 29 PS at 7,000rpm and 31.2 Nm at 5,500rpm, with Triumph focusing on stronger low-end torque and relaxed, torque-rich performance rather than outright speed.

Underneath the styling is a dedicated new chassis. It gets a telescopic fork and twin shocks, while the 18-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels retain the classic Bonneville stance.
The riding position is upright and relaxed, with a classic bench seat. The standard seat height is 790 mm, but an accessory low seat drops it to 770 mm. While the kerb weight is 195 kg.
There's even a centre stand as standard, making everyday ownership and chain maintenance a little easier.

The 350cc Bonneville is a great proposition for anyone looking for a proper old-school retro bike, and has an excellent build quality that Triumph is known for. Sure, it is slightly more expensive than its rivals, but for the extra money, you get better performance, a beautiful design and colour schemes, and loads of features. In India, the Bonneville T40 will have some serious competition with the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Jawa 350, Honda CB350 and Harley-Davidson X440.
