Atlas Key Highlights

Price: The 2026 Norton Atlas is expected to be launched at a price of Rs 6 lakh, while the more road-focused Atlas GT is expected to be priced at around Rs 6.5 lakh (both ex-showroom). On the other hand, the Norton Atlas Apex variant could cost Rs 6.75 lakh, whereas the Apex trim of the GT variant could be priced at Rs 7.25 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). The Norton Atlas range is expected to be launched later this year, probably around the festive season.

Design: The Norton Atlas looks properly matured, with clean, simple lines, and a neatly done bodywork that flows well from one panel to another. The front gets a twin-projector setup with a tall windscreen, and the headlight is flanked by auxiliary lamps that are neatly integrated into the tank extensions. The fat tyre dominates the rear, along with a stubby exhaust. The bike will be offered in four colour options: Matrix Black, Trophy Silver, Verona Green, and Sinopia Orange.

Features: The motorcycles come with an 8-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, keyless ignition, USB-C charging, and over-the-air updates. The electronics package includes a Bosch 6-axis IMU, cornering ABS, traction control, cruise control, wheelie control, rear-slide control, and five ride modes: Urban, Rain, Sport, Tour, and Enduro. The Apex variant adds features such as TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system), heated grips, electronic combined braking (ECBS), hill-hold control, an adjustable windscreen, cornering lights, puddle lamp, and an easy-fit rear luggage carrier.

Engine: The Atlas and Atlas GT are powered by a 585cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crankshaft. The engine produces 70PS and 57.5Nm, and is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a bidirectional quickshifter.

Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The key differences between the Atlas and Atlas GT are the wheel sizes, suspension travel, and riding ergonomics. The Atlas has a 19-inch front, and a 17-inch rear spoke wheels, while the Atlas GT has 17-inch wheels at both ends. Fully adjustable front suspension is standard. On the rear, the base variant gets rebound and preload adjustable monoshock, while the Apex variant has a fully-adjustable unit. The Atlas has 180mm wheel travel on both ends, while Atlas GT has 140mm wheel travel. The standard variant of the Atlas weighs around 188kg, the Apex version on the other hand, is around 192kg due to the added features and accessories. The seat height on the Atlas is 845mm, and on the Atlas GT, it is 815mm. Both motorcycles offer 220mm ground clearance and use Bybre disc brakes, featuring a 310mm front and a 270mm rear disc

Rivals: It goes up against both road-biased and balanced adventure bikes in the 450-650cc segment. This includes the Kawasaki Versys 650, the Honda NX500, and the BMW F 450 GS. That said, compared to all these bikes, the Norton Atlas will be more of a premium, niche ADV catering to those who want the finest British appeal but in a made-in-India adventure motorcycle.
