About Bajaj V15 Power Up

The Bajaj V15 could be your option, if you want to stand out in the clutter of the 150cc commuter motorcycles. Its flamboyant styling surely makes heads turn and Bajaj’s cut-throat pricing makes it a great bargain in its segment. For that tempting price tag you have to compromise on engineering finesse and performance. But what you get is a real-world fuel economy of close to 55 kmpl, good ride quality, and a proud piece of Indian history in the form of the INS Vikrant's metal.

Bajaj V15 Power Up Overview

Bajaj will soon be launching the V15 Power Up. This new model makes 13PS and 13Nm of torque which is 1PS and 0.3Nm more than the current V15. While mechanically the rest of the bike remains unchanged, it gets new and larger graphics. The Bajaj V15 has been positioned as a 150cc commuter offering and the fuel tank has been crafted using metal from INS Vikrant, the country's first aircraft carrier.
It has a 149cc air cooled motor that makes 12PS and 12.7Nm of torque. The bike comes with a dual cradle frame and has 33mm front forks and dual rear gas charged shock absorbers. It gets 18-inch front and 16-inch rear alloy wheels fitted with tubeless tyres. Braking is via a 240mm front disc and 130mm rear drum. We expect Bajaj to launch the V15 with a single channel ABS soon.
The V15 will compete with the Honda Unicorn 150 and Hero Achiever 150.

Q. How is your Bajaj V15 after 2 years?
  • Not yet two years. Heck not even an year. The v15 showed signs of malfunction since day one. The after sales service of bajaj auto is utterly incompetent. They work much worse than government employees. For example the staff at Executive bajaj showroom at malad-Mumbai shows up to the office at 12 pm.The v15 is an unreliable motorcycle. Stay away from making a purchase at all cost. Id go as far as suggesting that do not but bajaj bikes at all.
  • My Bajaj V15 is doing fine. Its been three years now and I've been riding interstate since the time I bought. I do at least two major trips in a month. I haven't had any major breakdown. The earlier V15 has some issues which have been resolved now in the models. Of course, Bajaj's services are not great. Overall the ride quality is nice. It is a great commuter bike.
  • It's condition is good and well maintained..And my v15 is 3.5 years old.

Best bike qith classic looks and also with freat mileage and engine performance after completing 30000 km their is no issue average maintenance cost is 2500 per year

  • yes its still happens

The performance was good in both local commutes & highway rides. And i'm getting 48 kmpl on local and 51 on highway long rides.Still i'm using this bco's it's so close to me, That's what i can say. And coming to that vibration yes its still happens after riding on 90 km speed, Feels that more vibrations on handle & foot bars, Even though it's getting periodically maintenance along with changing the engine oil every 2100 kms. I know that the manufacturing process was stopped bcos, They could not get better response from the customers and lack of the low height pillion seat, Not having a digital instrument cluster, Whereas the same pulsar 150 cc got, Of course the missing mono of shock absorber, Like wise etc.The main part of bajaj would re considered these complaints in future models also and try to arrest the vibrations from the segments of 150 cc bike while riding up in 100 km speed. (minimal can accept boss).

  • Spare parts

Pros: appears big in its class. Ok for a single raider with 84 kg weight. Cons: The engine is almost lifeless, breaking is just ok, poor mileage, drags with 2 people, shocks are the worst, engine rattles from 3rd gear onwards. The gear shifting is a mess can't do swift overtaking. Tyre grip is also worst (i have changed the tyres to MRF and am feeling better). Fitting and finishing is very low quality. Bajaj is cheating people on the name of war heroes. Now they stopped supply of spare parts too.
