The Sahara Force India F1 team has forged a multi-year technical partnership with 3D Systems Corporation, a leading supplier of content to print solutions. This will allow the team to take full advantage of their wind tunnel testing capacity and pioneer new full scale manufacturing opportunities using 3D Systems’ additive manufacturing technology.

“We’ve been working with 3D systems as a customer for many years, so we are delighted to forge stronger links with a company that is the market leader for rapid prototyping technology. We use their technology on a daily basis to manufacture wind tunnel model components and this new relationship will hopefully allow us to get performance to the car faster,” said Vijay Mallya, Team Principal of the Sahara Force India F1 team.

Kevin McAlea, Senior Vice President and General Manager of 3D Production Printers, 3D Systems said, “The opportunity to partner with emerging innovators like Sahara Force India provides tangible customer benefits that extend well beyond motorsports.”

Sahara Force India is gearing up to launch its new 2013 car on February 1, 2012, four days before the pre-season tests at Jerez.
