Bajaj: KTM & Ninja 250 Launch Plans!

Bajaj: KTM & Ninja 250 Launch Plans!

The time to rejoice for many a biker is just around the corner for Bajaj has finally given out a clearer understanding as to when they will finally launch the KTM bikes and the much awaited Kawasaki Ninja 250 in India.

No doubt, the wait has been long, as the news first made its way around at the 2008 Auto Expo, however market scenarios change and companies need to take the right measures before introducing a new model into the country. There is enough being said about these particular bikes at the moment and Bajaj is definitely working towards making these dream machines a reality.

KTM:

SHonda Jazz

Post the 2008 Auto Expo held in Delhi, Bajaj has been working very closely with KTM to make two new bikes for the Indian market. Those in the know will remember that Bajaj has now acquired a 40 per cent stake in KTM, so the plans are extremely serious and not some far fetched PR gimmick.

Bajaj-KTM, if I may call it that, is set to introduce their bikes in 2010. When exactly, is yet to be confirmed, but the fact that 2010 is also the year for the Auto Expo in Delhi, I would not rule out a January launch, for at least one of the products.

yes its good to see a lot of changes ,its very bored to see the same style/pattern/design of bikes on road in every brand with slight changes. like KTM its pleasure to own the bike from bajaj, but the price coast is focused only for upper middle class. | Reply

The wait for Ninja 250 has crossed my patience. I have just lost hopes and confidence on what Bajaj has to say about this. I guess Bajaj is trying to maximise their sales of 220 before the Ninja Launch. The wait has almost killed my interest in the baby Ninja. I guess this is what Bajaj wants. Get tired of waiting for Ninja and go for P220. | Reply

@zaq: I think you have issues man....get with the program...this is just an insight for real bikers like us who want to know when great products arrive........get a grip man...slow your roll...chill out...you don't need to get all mad and uptight at zigwheels or bajaj for that matter....after all...no other manufacturer is promising performance bikes that are more affordable....maybe Honda should take a clue and bring in the VTR 250...wot say then????? | Reply

@Nishil: Me and all my biker buddies echo your sentiment man...but I kinda understand Bajaj's problem too. Technically, they have nothing to gain from the Ninja...it is not even their own product. They're going out on a limb as it is introducing an all-new class-establishing international level bike at a premium price...that's a big risk and that's why no other manufacturer has the balls to do it. They'll all wait and watch...Bajaj is only waiting, not watching...Guess we should give them some credit for that. | Reply

Mr. Carpenter...haven't you heard of the DRI raids??!! Shipped and assembled bikes are illegal in our country. You think people would buy a Busa for 14 lakh through Suzuki India otherwise, if they were getting it for 8 lakh otherwise? | Reply
  • Nishil (25 June 2009 14:10)
As I know - ninja would be the most sought after twin once it arrives. Planing 2010 will be too late , when whole of southeast asia already has it. Why this discrimination to Indian Bikers??? | Reply

i am realy waiting for this kind of model | Reply
  • Mr D S Carpenter (25 June 2009 12:00)
It is probably not worth the extra money. The riding position is not conducive to most road conditions in India and the high price can be brought down if you know an excellant Mechanic and a good Shipper. (i.e. Buy the motorcycle while still in the crate and ship it to your destination and assemble it here in India saving Duty but paying Shipping and Assembly saving you between Rs .235 to .47 lakh. Maybe more if you are lucky. | Reply
